for those who may still be using film, Agfa as we know is gone but Rodinal's
original formula lives on as ORWO RO9, and as the rebadged Rollei RO9 (made
by ORWO) - so it can still be got :)

finally for anyone who makes their own devs, the para-aminophenol HCL
component can be made by using panadol.

30 tablets @ 500 mg generic panadol (crushed)
50 g sodium sulphite;
20 g sodium hydroxide
water to make 250 ml


Start with about 100ml cold ater and add the sodium hydroxide.
Stir in the panadol and sulphite
stire in the panadol
seal it and let stand for at least 24 hours; activity may
continue increasing (as the reaction converting acetaminophen to
p-aminophenol proceeds) for up to 48 hours from mixing.
