Post by NoonsYes you are. You have not posted ANYTHING in ages, neither has ANYONE
else. Yet you claim this place is full of spam? Note: that was your
initial claim, now you changed to "irrelevant drivel". What does that
make your two posts so far? On topic?
If you can't fathom that you're totally out of line, you are either
thick as a brick or a troll. Which you prefer?
OK, I'll bite - only because (a) I'm bored and your reaction bemuses me and
(b) this NG appears so completely dead that this trickle of posts is likely
to go unnoticed anyway...
I haven't posted "ANYTHING in ages", Einstein, because I subscribed to this
NG only YESTERDAY, so great detective work there! And of the 500-odd headers
that were downloaded when I subscribed, only a relatively small proportion
had anything to do with photography. And even some of those "relevant" posts
consisted of flame wars between subscribers (and given your reaction, I now
understand why!)
I also find it somewhat bemusing that you take me to task on the distinction
between "spam" and "irrelevant drivel". I guess I'm as "thick as a brick"
because I can't decide whether posts claiming that the Jews are driving the
pornography industry would be classified as (political/religious/racial)
"spam" or "irrelevant drivel". Perhaps you, being obviously more intelligent
than I, would be so kind as you enlighten me? On second thoughts, don't
bother, because I simply don't give a fuck.
I came to this NG with the hope of finding a helpful, active community of
Australian photographers. Obviously I was bitterly disappointed. Was my
posting "On topic" or "out of line"? Either is debatable, but I'm not going
to bore anyone else even further by going in it. You could perhaps argue
that it added nothing to the NG, and that's a fair comment. But my posting
was aimed squarely at the noise that had dominated the postings and in no
way passed any judgement on the relevant content of the NG.
Which again has me bemused at your reaction.
A final note. I'm a complete photography novice and haven't been involved in
the photography "scene" for very long, but I'm beginning to form a picture
of the "stereotypical" photography enthusiast, based on
comments/observations of *others* as discussed in numerous forums and
photogaphy clubs, as well as my own observations of the same. I'm not going
to elaborate further, other than to say that you would appear to me to fit
that stereotype extremely well. Read into that what you may.
Regards,
