I didn't have much of a chance to shoot over the past month, so be polite
and try to limit you laughter at my shots to several minutes, with maximun
SPL of 132db. Thank you.
Alan Browne's Shower Head - Interesting subject. A good start for the
page because it's outside-the-box thinking for the mandate.
Alan (Browne?) - Garter Belt - vide supra.
Bowser - Flames - First he poor mouths, then he submits a very good
image.
Jim Kramer - Claws - Best of the bunch.
Atheist Chaplain - Autos (both) - Were incorrect links used?
Unknown Submitter - Bless the Child - The idea was good, but the gun
should have been pointed directly at the camera for the idea to work.
Yes, it might have been less recognizable as a gun without the top of
the barrel showing, but I think we would have known.
Flowers and bugs - Technically strong, but too predictable for the
mandate.
Backstory: I went to a florist and offered to purchase one
chrysanthemum to add something to the my little ivory figurine. I
explained why I wanted it, and the owner gave me the flower free of
charge.
In appreciation, I returned later with an 8" x 10" of the photograph.
The lady, not being as discerning about photography as the people in
this newsgroup, was quite excited.
There's a sub shop in the same strip mall, and I went by the florist's
a few days later after lunch. The photograph has been matted, framed,
and hung.
Finally...I am hung somewhere besides my own walls.

Umm no, the car shot was deliberate, the mandate was "Pick a lens, any lens,
and shoot something at that lens' closest focusing distance." I interpreted
that as using the closest or smallest focusing lens length, both were shot
at 18mm, the closest or smallest length the lens is capable of, after all I
knew everyone else would be crouching down and shooting macro shots of
flowers and bugs, or going for the DOF shots, I just went in a different
direction with those two, my first shot is with my ghetto macro :-) (A
magnifying glass in front of the lens, also taken at 18mm)
they were also photos of opportunity as I only had the ghetto macro shot up
until Saturday morning, and my wife told me that the Alfa Club of Australia
was holding a rally in one of the local parks, so a quick
"re-interpretation" was called for and a few shots were taken of some nicely
prepared cars, and to get the best out of some of those car show shots, you
need a small lens so you can get close enough to get the car in, without all
the human traffic also being in the shot.
I'm still learning, so any criticism of the shots is most welcome :-)
