Just missed my second auction for one on Ebay. I've been
searching for them for years so I've decided to get desperate
and interrupt the deathly silence of some Aussie newsgroups.

I'm basically after a small machine on the cheap and in
(preferably Western) Victoria. The ones in the auction I missed
(http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271428176205) are pretty much bang
on.

I've checked other auctions sites (gray's online, Gumtree,
QuickSales), but haven't found what I'm after.

Any hints would be much appreciated.

For a business?

In theory, yes.

If I can find one like those I keep missing on Ebay, I'm thinking
of setting up a portable out-fit and traveling around the camera
clubs to offer developing services at their meetings. It's an idea
inspired by low initial investment though, so I'm not looking to
pay big bucks for one.

As part of that I would want to know the power consumption of a
machine before I bought it, because I'll have to work out how to
get enough while on the move.

I have heard that the chemicals cost a heap, and have to be disposed
of safely.

IIRC these machines may need 450 volts, but can't swear to that.

You can be pretty certain they don't require "450V". Perhaps you mean 3
phase/415V, but I doubt they do. Not one he could ever use as he suggests
anyway!

Yeah, 415V would be unlikely, you'd only need that if they had multi-horse
power motors inside which I definately doubt. Plus I've seen specs on at
least some single phase ones.

Chemicals are available in for decent prices in the US. Aus suppliers have
higher minimum quantities, but it shouldn't be too bad from what I've seen.
