Here's my nomination. Extra points because it cites Nikon hardware ;-)

Kodachrome - Simon and Garfunkel

When I think back
On all the crap I learned in high school
It's a wonder
I can think at all
And though my lack of education
Hasn't hurt me none
I can read the writing on the wall

Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away

If you took all the girls I knew
When I was single
And brought them all together for one night
I know they'd never match
my sweet imagination
everything looks better in black and white

Kodachrome
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away

Sadly, here in Australia, mama did take our Kodachrome away. At least
Velvia is still here.

Struggling, but how about one line ...:

Hold On Me -Grinspoon

"look sharp at dark without a power shot lense" Of course you might look
sharp, but the high ISO noise'll kill ya.

songs:
the model - kraftwerk
camera, camera - renaissance
photograph - def leppard
photograph - nickelback
take a picture - filter
hope you have your camera - jane siberry
number one camera - nina gordon
family snapshots - peter gabriel

groups:
aztec camera, camera obscura

I offer no comment on the quality/relevance of the songs, although Take
a Picture by Filter sounds *wild* on a good stereo system!

'Heeeey, Dad, what do you think about your son, Nooooow!!!???'

(Sorry.. can't get it out of my head now!)

Sorry, scrap that. I doubt whether Ringo's effort would qualify
for the "greatest song about photography ever written".

Speaking of sixties icons, I wonder if The Who's "Picture of Lily"
fits into the list --

Pictures of Lily made my life so wonderful
Pictures of Lily helped me sleep at night
Pitcures of Lily solved my childhood problems
Pictures of Lily helped me feel alright

actually... I found the lyrics for the siouxsie and the banshees song..
Redlight.

She falls into frame with a professional pout but the polaroids ignite
on seeing their subject and the aperture shuts-too much exposure
Voyeur sucks into focus-floodlit the glossy kiss-pit but as emulsion
drips down...down
the aperture shuts-too much exposure
Come into this room-Come into this gloom See the Red light rinsing
another shutterslut wincing the sagging half-wit sister
pretty, pretty picture
of an ancient nipple shrinking-that Kodakwhore winking 'til the aperture
shuts-too much exposure.

I reckon this has to be a contender

"Girls on film" - Duran Duran
and there was a line in a song recently by Black Eyed Peas (maybe):
"Shake it like a Polaroid picture"
DJ! is the winner I'd reckon

"Shake it like a Polaroid picture"
See: http://articleonline.net/blog/archives/000130.shtml for Polaroid's
original warning. This has now been modified on the Polaroid site, probably
something to do with their apparent sponsoring of an Outkast tour :-).

I always thought the line in the ELO song "Do Ya" was great.
"...I've seen... pictures sitting watchin' picture slides...". Great
line in a great song.
The Who's "Pictures of Lily" comes to mind...
Sorry for the somewhat late reply by the way, but I just
subscribed to this newsgroup and my newsserver has quite a long
retention... in this case it was back to early 2005.
